Spiraea japonica 'Goldflame' is a compact deciduous shrub with bronze-red ovate leaves in spring, changing to yellow-green as the summer progresses. The foliage turns brilliant shades of orange, red and yellow in the fall. It is a small shrub that grows up to 2 to 3 feet high. It bears pink flowers in early summer. The shrub features a really welcome springtime show, as the small leaves emerge in shades of coppery orange, rust, and yellow.
